The people of Vietnam are gentle, happy and welcoming to visitors. At present there are 54 different ethnic groups inhabiting Vietnam, in which Kinh (Viet) people make up nearly 90% of the whole population, and 53 other ethnic groups represent over 10%. Vietnamese literary tradition has evolved through the multiple events that have marked the country’s history. New literary movements can usually be observed every ten years but in the last century, Vietnamese literature underwent several literary transitions.
Vietnam is a country of outstanding natural beauty; some of the best beaches in south-east Asia can be found here. The larger towns and cities retain much of the colonial charm and beauty in the architecture, parks and boulevards left as a cultural legacy by the French.
