Phonesavan was one of the most heavily bombed places during the American War in Vietnam. Known as the ‘Gateway to the Plain of Jars’, an archaeological site littered with large stone jars. ALthough there are lots of theories as to why they are there and their possible uses no one has been able to explain their existence definitively.
